TAB Router ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Virtual Projections DBA TAB Router. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our products, website (tabrouter.com), customer portal (my.tabrouter.com), and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you purchase a TAB Router or create an account, we collect:

• Name and email address
• Shipping address (for hardware orders)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe - we never store your credit card details)
• WiFi network name and password (stored for your portal access only)

Device Information

Your TAB Router collects the following information about connected devices:

• Device MAC addresses and hostnames (for device identification and management)
• DNS query logs (for ad blocking and parental controls - queries are processed locally on the router and not sent to our servers)
• Aggregate network statistics (total queries blocked, active devices count)

Support Interactions

When you contact support via the portal or TAB AI, we collect:

• Support ticket content and conversation history
• TAB AI chat messages (processed via OpenAI's API - see Section 5)

Website Analytics

We use Cloudflare analytics to understand website traffic. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts on our website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Process and fulfill your router orders
• Provide and maintain your TAB Router cloud portal
• Deliver customer support and respond to tickets
• Send order confirmations and shipping notifications
• Process TAB GEO Stream subscriptions and trials
• Improve our products and services

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Customer portal data (accounts, device settings, support tickets) is stored on our secure servers hosted in the United States
• DNS query data is processed locally on your router and is not transmitted to our servers
• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers
• All connections to our portal and website use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text

4. TAB GEO Stream

If you enable TAB GEO Stream (our streaming DNS proxy service):

• Your streaming DNS queries are routed through our SmartDNS servers in the US and/or EU
• Only DNS lookups are redirected - your actual video streaming traffic goes directly to the streaming provider at full speed
• We do not log, monitor, or store which streaming content you access
• SmartDNS server locations: United States and European Union

5. TAB AI Assistant

TAB AI is powered by OpenAI's language models. When you use TAB AI:

• Your messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing
• OpenAI's API data usage policies apply (OpenAI does not use API data for training)
• Conversation history is stored temporarily in your browser session and is not permanently saved on our servers
• TAB AI can execute router commands (like pausing devices) on your behalf - these actions are logged in your portal

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe - Payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
• Cloudflare - DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
• OpenAI - TAB AI language processing (OpenAI Privacy Policy)
• Amazon SES - Transactional email delivery (AWS Privacy Policy)

7. Cookies

Our customer portal uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookie services on our website or portal.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data by logging into your portal
• Update your account information at any time through your portal
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at hello@tabrouter.com
• Export your data upon request

If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have rights under GDPR including data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy

TAB Router is a family product with parental controls. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The parental controls feature is operated by the parent/guardian account holder.

10. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active
• Order records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal purposes
• Support tickets are retained for 2 years after resolution
• DNS logs on your router are automatically rotated and do not leave the device

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
